Business game achievements

No.1 accountants in the competition for the 3rd time in recent years, winning a cash prize.

We are pleased to confirm our continued involvement in the Business and Investment Management Game sponsored by Ford. This year the team consisted of Mark Watkins (Captain), Larren Fynn, Joe Moon, Felicity Sang, Cheryl Blake and Mike Jakeways. The competition required the team to be the decision makers in a manufacturing business in competitive and changing trading / market conditions. They submitted weekly decisions, taken at lunchtime meetings via fax to BIMG (www.bimg.co.uk), on pricing policy, marketing strategy, production level, financing, transport policy and the use of consultants with the aim of maximising profits. In each round they competed against a group of four other teams in manufacturing unspecified products for a number of markets. They received a weekly management report of the revised trading position and Cavendish Cats’ balance sheet. Out of approximately 120 teams that participated, from all over the country and including the likes of Deloitte, PWC and KPMG the team won through to the final for the first time in our four year involvement.
